No. 27 Dated 4 April 2025

Message From Mrs Dance

Dear Parents and Carers,

The Easter holiday has finally arrived. Weekly assemblies have shared the Easter story and why and how it is celebrated.

The week began in a hive of sporting energy. On Monday, we welcomed British Para-athlete Kylie Grimes into school. The children were amazing, taking part in all the sporting activities as well as listening to her story and the fantastic achievements that she has had in her sports career so far. When I talked with the children afterwards, they all spoke about how resilient she is; a fantastic role model to our children, exemplifying one of our MIRROR values.

Thanks to the generosity of you, the children and your wider families, we have raised a magnificent £4,791.42 - what a marvellous total! We will receive £1,597 to spend on sports equipment for the children. Mr. Burdock and Mr. Holmes are looking forward to spending the money. We will share their purchases with you all during the summer term.

On Wednesday, Year 3 spent a day at Hillier Gardens in Romsey, to enhance their scientific learning. The sun was shining, and the children had a great day exploring the grounds and learning first-hand all about plants and how they grow and adapt to their habitats.

It has been an eventful and very successful term. Thank you to you all for your ongoing support of your children’s learning and of the staff team. By working together, our children will thrive and succeed!

I look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Tuesday 22nd April for the final summer term of this academic year.

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter break.

Mrs. Dance

Headteacher

Attendance this week

Please think carefully before keeping your child away from school.

As parents and carers you have a responsibility to inform the school before 9.00am every day if your child will not be in school, this can be done via the Arbor app, by emailing the attendance email address: attendance@vigo.hants.sch.uk or by calling the school and selecting option 1.

More about attendance at Vigo >>

Lateness

We have recently noticed a significant rise in lateness.

Please ensure your child is at school at 8:35am ready for the school day. You may be invited into school for a meeting with our Attendance Support Worker if lateness is persistent. Unfortunately, due to updated government guidelines, non-attendance of this meeting could result in a penalty notice or referral to the Legal Intervention Team.
