Attendance Support

Hello! Welcome to the Attendance Support page. My name is Becky Renouf and I am the Attendance Support Worker at Vigo Primary School. As part of my role, I monitor attendance daily and communicate with parents and other professionals to help improve school attendance. This page will be updated regularly with the latest government guidance and advice from the Local Authority, but will also be a great place to pick up some top tips on morning routines, easy breakfast recipes, and other handy advice to help everyone aim for 100% attendance. I look forward to working with you laugh

Why does school attendance matter?

Missing a few days here and there may not seem like a big deal but research shows that it can have a significant impact on your child's academic and social learning. It can be really hard for a child to maintain their friendships and form strong relationships with their class mates and teachers if they are missing school. The school work they miss could result in big gaps in a child's learning further increasing the likelihood of underachieving at secondary school.

At Vigo, we want to support children and their families in achieving at least 95% attendance through offering advice, providing access to the latest guidance and promoting top tips for a wide range of barriers that may be making good attendance challenging!

We have a fantastic pastoral team who will always do their best to support you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch using the form below.
