Girls at Knights Enham

Before half term the Girls Football team travelled to Knights Enham Juniors to take part in the Andover Schools Competition. They play 8 8-minue games against other local teams for the right to represent Andover against other Test Valley Schools. The girls started the first game brightly but were unable to breakdown Endeavour 1 leading to a 0-0 draw. Up second were Anton, who have previously beat the girls 3-2 in a seesaw game. This proved to be the case again Cole thought she had given Vigo the lead but the refeere judge the goalkeeper had the ball in her hands and ruled the goal out. Cole again thought she had got the goal but this time the keeper keeping it out on the line. Anton then got the bounce of the ball and scored an unstoppable volley claiming the win. Vigo bounced back to secure back to back 1-0 victories over Kimpton and Clatford. Before a 2-0 win over Rookwood 2 with Cole and Bobby Noble getting the goals. A tight 0-0 draw against Knight Enham provided the only test as the wrapped up with a 3-0 win over Endeavour 2 with Kilhams, Hawkins and Cole scoring and a 3-0 win against Rookwood 1 with Hawkins and Cole scoring again. The girls finished with 5 wins, 2 draws and a loss, scoring 10 goals and conceding only 1 to finish runners up behind Anton by 2 points and clear of Knight Enham in third on goal difference.
