Covid-19 Second Update 16th March 2020

As of Tuesday 17th March:

Any person who has a high temperature or a new persistent cough must now isolate with everyone in their household for 14 days.  Please do not present in school at any point within your containment.  This advice supersedes that issued earlier today.  We apologise for sending out two letters, but the advice is changing constantly.

The previous advice does continue that if no one in your house has symptoms of COVID-19 (high temperature or new persistent cough), children are to come to school as usual.  If your child is well but is in a period of isolation, in the coming days there will be work made available to them on the school website and via the online learning platforms that we subscribe to.

This is a list of educational websites that you can access to support further home learning until the website has been updated:

We have taken many measures in school to mitigate against infection; high levels of hand hygiene, rather than social isolation remains the advice in relation to schools at present.  Of course, if this changes we will update our advice to you.

Over the coming days and weeks we may need to make changes to the structure of our teaching and our days.  This may mean combining classes as our staff numbers are affected.

We understand that this may be an overwhelming experience for some parents and children and if you would like any further support from the school or have any questions please email at : adminoffice@vigo.hants.sch.uk

We thank you for the levels of understanding you have all shown as we do our best to keep the school running.
