Vigo Primary

Opening a World of Learning

Vigo Primary School V's Andover C of E

Friday 8 th December

A selection of year 4, 5 and 6 boys from our football club were chosen to play in our first friendly match of the year! It was lovely to see so many parents come and cheer on the team afterschool, even though it was so cold outside. All of the boys did Vigo very proud, worked really hard as a team and showed a lot of respect for each other, the other school and the adults who were watching.

A few minutes into the match starting Cameron Morgan (y4) scored the opening goal for Vigo. This was quickly followed by two goals from Harvey Tarrant (y6)and one goal from Louie Baxter (y 5). Callum Shepherd made some fantastic saves in goal but unfortunately Andover managed to get two goals back from rebounds. After half time Frankie-Dean Millins (y4) scored a great goal but after another great save from Callum, Andover scored again. Andover then got one more goal but George Mallon (y5) quickly followed up scoring one for Vigo. Kai McManus (y4) scored the final goal for Andover, but just before the final whistle Andover managed to grab a last minute goal. The final score was 7-4 to Vigo, giving us a comfortable first win of the year, well done boys!
