Thank you to you all for continuing to support our school uniform, it was wonderful to see the children looking so smart for their school photographs this week.

On Wednesday, the school was filled with the sound of sniffing as the entire school received their flu vaccinations. Once again, the children were exemplary when receiving the vaccinations from the immunisation nurses, being calm, polite and respectful.

This week we welcomed two members of the EYFS HIAS team, who came in to work with the EYFS team on engaging our early writers. They were impressed with the strong relationships that have been built already between the children and staff team and our EYFS environment. We are looking forward to working with them throughout the year.

Today is World Mental Health Day, whatever you do this weekend, I hope that it is relaxing and enables you all to recharge your batteries ready for next week.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Dance

Headteacher

Thank you!

Today we have received £189.50 in donations to Young Minds for Hello Yellow Day.

Attendance this week

Please think carefully before keeping your child away from school.

As parents and carers, you have a responsibility to inform the school before 9.00am every day if your child will not be in school, this can be done via the Arbor app, by emailing the attendance email address: attendance@vigo.hants.sch.uk or by calling the school and selecting option 1.

More about attendance at Vigo >>

Lateness

We have recently noticed a significant rise in lateness.

Please ensure your child is at school at 8:35am ready for the school day.

You may be invited into school for a meeting with our Attendance Support Worker if lateness is persistent.

Unfortunately, due to updated government guidelines, non-attendance of this meeting could result in a penalty notice or referral to the Legal Intervention Team.

Parking

Can we remind all Parents and Carers not to park on the grass verges or by dipped curbs on Vigo Road. Parking here blocks pathways used by wheelchair users and parents with pushchairs, and obstructs lines of sight causing further safety issues.

We have had complaints from residents of Vigo road that they have been unable to leave their homes to take their own children to school, or go to work, because cars have been parked blocking their driveways.

Please be aware that parking enforcement officers have been requested. Parking on footpaths, across dipped kerbs or on yellow lines can result in a penalty charge notice being issued.

PE Achievements Some fantastic news regarding Tiana, a current Year 4 pupil..."After completing swimming lessons, Tiana joined Andover Swimming Club 14 months ago. She trains 5 hours a week across 3 swimming sessions and 1 water polo session. She recently took part in the 100m Club Championships competing against the other female swimmers in her age group. She was able to enter three U10 events and medalled in all 3, taking gold in the backstroke, gold in the Individual Medley (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle) and a very close silver medal in breaststroke."Tiana we love the motivation you have shown to compete in your sport. And the huge resilience it takes from you (and your parents!) to dedicate so much time to your training. Keep up the fantastic work
