Message From Mrs Dance

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you to everyone who generously gave up their time to come into school on a rainy, windy and cold Saturday morning to help the EYFS Ground Force work. It was  a great morning, where we achieved a lot. The area was tidied, weeded, painted and developed, all to a backdrop of music, conversation, tea and biscuits. The children’s faces when they came into school on Monday, made all of the hard work worthwhile.

Our Junior Librarians are now in post supporting the library and engaging children across the school in reading for pleasure. They are doing a fantastic job, thank you to the team.

Christmas is definitely drawing ever nearer. Year R, 1 and 2 have begun their Christmas performance practice and the school choir have begun their singing extravaganza, yesterday they sang at Tesco’s encouraging shoppers to donate to the Andover foodbank.

Mr Baker has started his Christmas decoration of the school, more and more rooms are becoming ‘christmasified’; tinsel, lights and baubles are appearing everywhere!

I am really looking forward to our Winter Fayre next Friday. Thank you to the Friends of Vigo for organising the event. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Wishing you all a great weekend

Mrs Dance

Headteacher

A Message from Friends of Vigo Primary

WINTER FAYRE UPDATE (28 NOVEMBER 2025)

We are really looking forward to welcoming you all to the Winter Fayre on Friday 5 December 2025 (next week!). Below is a quick update on some things you need to know that are happening next week.

  • Dress Down Day – Tuesday 2 December 2025

A little reminder that Tuesday 2 December is a Dress Down Day for donations, as requested via a letter sent out on 4 November 2025:

  • KS1 donations will help to create ‘Raffle Hampers’
    • Year R donation – Chocolate items
    • Year 1 donation – Pamper items for ‘Her’
    • Year 2 donation – Pamper items for ‘Him’
  • KS2 donations will be used on the Bottle Stall
    • Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 donation – Bring a Bottle (soft/alcoholic drinks, not pamper items)

Please do not feel pressure to buy anything special – if you have anything unopened and spare in the cupboard it will be fine. All donations must be handed to your child’s class teacher on Tuesday 2nd December 2025.

  • Raffle Tickets and Prizes

We have been advertising the raffle prizes on Facebook, and these will also be publicised in school from Monday.  Raffle tickets will be sold in the playground at collection and drop off from Monday 1 December 2025. We are not licenced to sell tickets to anyone under 18.

They are £1 per ticket and £5 per book, and we can take cash or card. Tickets will be available for purchase until Friday 5 December 2025 at 1645hrs.

Prizes will be drawn at 1700hrs on Friday 5 December 2025. All winners will be notified directly if not still at the event.

If you do not attend routine drop off or collections and are not able to attend the fayre, but wish to buy some tickets, please email vigopta@gmail.com and we will support where possible.

  • Winter Fayre Payment Cards

To limit the requirements for lots of 50p coins on the day, we will be selling payment cards for use at the fair (an example is shown below). These will also be on sale in the playground from Monday, so you don’t have to wait to purchase at the door. They cost £5 each (we can take cash or card) and can be used on all stalls at the event.

There will also be the option to use cash/bank card on the refreshments stand.

If you require any further information about the Winter Fayre, please contact the Friends of Vigo Primary team at vigopta@gmail.com
