Message From Mrs Dance

Dear parents and carers,

Christmas has arrived at Vigo! The library, halls and classrooms are shining with Christmas tinsel and lights. Buddy the Elf is also in situ, the children are so excited to welcome him back. Every day, he sits in a different place in school, challenging the children to try and find him. The children receive a daily email from him, sharing his night-time adventures around the school as well as sharing a Christmas joke or two, all with the help from his friend Mr Baker.

Our wonderful choir have already started their Christmas singing journey, last week they sang at Tesco; earlier this week, I received the following email:

“Thank you all so much for coming along to support us at the Tesco Christmas Collection last week, we really appreciate the efforts you went to and know just how hard it is to co-ordinate something like that. Mrs Weymouth and the staff were as wonderful as ever and the children were so well behaved and a real credit to the school. The number of comments we received about the incredible choir reflected just how big an impact they had on our collection - I have attached a certificate to share with you.” Andover Foodbank

The choir will be back at Tesco’s next week, and I will be joining them in this festive act of community spirit.

Following our recent Parent Forum meeting, the minutes and highlights document can be found on our Parent Forum page on the school website. You can access this page by clicking on the following link: Vigo Primary School - Parent Forum

On Monday, the children and staff will be attending St Mary’s Church as part of their RE curriculum. This is a lovely part of our curriculum enrichment and starts the run-up to Christmas and all of our festive assemblies and events wonderfully.

This afternoon was our Winter Fayre. Thank you to our amazing Friends of Vigo team who have worked really hard to put the event together. Thanks to the Year 6 children who ran the brown hall stalls, the staff who came along to help and finally, thank you to you all for your generous contributions. It was lovely to see you there.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Mrs Dance

Christmas Choir Concerts Don't miss out on this opportunity to come and witness Mrs Weymouth and our extremely talented children first hand. The purpose of these shows is to inspire our next generation of choir candidates and motivate them to work hard to join the Choir during their time here at Vigo. We will be hosting two concerts on Wednesday 17th December; the first performance is at 3:30pm and the second performance is at 4:15pm. This event is open to all Vigo families, therefore if you would like to come along to one of these performances, please book your tickets by completing the google form using the link below. Booking will close at 5:00pm on Thursday 11th December 2025. Tickets will be sent to the class teacher during the week commencing Monday 15th December who will issue them directly to you. You must bring your ticket along to gain entry to the event on the day. https://forms.gle/X7YhpG… capacity of each performance is 80 seats so please be advised the tickets will be limited to a maximum of 4 tickets per family group. Tickets must be booked for the same event and not spread over the two performances, and all children/siblings must form part of the allocation for your family group. Due to the space limitations, we are unable to accommodate buggies/prams, these must be left outside during the performance. If you require additional space for a wheelchair/mobility scooter, please indicate on the google doc form so we can contact you to make the necessary arrangements for the performance. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible along to the upcoming concerts.
