Message From Mrs Dance

I hope you have all had a positive and productive week. As always, it has been a pleasure to see our children working hard, supporting one another, and showing enthusiasm for their learning. The atmosphere around school continues to reflect our shared MIRROR values.

My assemblies this week have been titled: Look Closely – taking the time to see people more clearly. Using optical illusions, I shared that whilst these illusions are just for fun: the strange things that we experience usually occur because our eyes or brains are misled by the arrangement of colours, images, light and so on. However, these illusions show us something important too: that what we think we see is not always what is really there. We often accept what we see as truth, but sometimes, we get it wrong. This can be especially true when it comes to what we think about people. I have encouraged the children to take the time to speak to someone new, or find out more about one of their friends. Encouraging them not to be influenced by outward appearance, but to take the time to get to know someone properly.

In the season 2025/26, Cyryl (Y4) competed for Overton Harriers AC in the Juniors Cross Country League. He ran his last race on Sunday, finishing 22nd, which gave him 25th place in general classification. Congratulations to Cyryl, what a fantastic achievement! Great resilience and motivation!

We held our final parental consultations this week. Thank you for attending and sharing your views through our parent surveys. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us continue to develop and strengthen our home-school partnership.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend and week ahead. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
