Message From Mrs Dance

Spring is definitely in the air here at school. The children are enjoying the sunnier weather at breaktimes and lunchtimes. Across the school the children are continuing to experience a wide range of learning experiences which are all adding to the vibrance of the school.

Congratulations to Molly and her New Street Swifts Vixens team who won the Hampshire cup for another year! Molly got player of the match! A fantastic achievement- well done!

Congratulation also to Austin in Year 4, who has demonstrated fabulous resilience at his Infinity Warriors Martial Arts club. Austin has worked really hard and achieved his green belt- well done Austin!

Sadly, we say good bye to some of the Vigo team today. Mrs Eggington, Miss Newham, Mrs Skeates and Mrs Juliffe. I am sure that you will all join me in thanking them for all that they have done to support the children, families and team here at Vigo. We will miss them and wish them all the best in their next adventures!

When we return after the Easter break, we welcome Miss Walmsley who will be Whale class’s new teacher; Miss McSherry who is returning from maternity leave and will be teaching Japan class; Miss Wheeler and Mrs Sherwin, new learning support assistants. I am sure that you will all join me in welcoming them to our wonderful Vigo community.

Whatever you are doing, I hope that you all enjoy the Easter break. Due to Monday 13th April being an Inset Day. We look forward to welcoming the children and yourselves back to a school on Tuesday 14th April.

Wishing you all a lovely couple of weeks.

Rachel Dance

***Sporting Achievements*** Some brilliant news coming through from Cyryl, a current Year 4 pupil, who has recently finished competing in the Juniors Cross Country League. Cyryl has been a member of the Overton Harriers & Athletic Club since Year 2 and in this season 2025/26 Cyryl has competed against hundreds of runners from Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC, Fleet AC, Andover AC, Wessex Wyverns, Team Kennet, Aldershot Farnham & District, Waterloo AC, Camberley AC. He ran his last race on Sunday, finishing in 22nd position, which gave him 25th place in general classification. Competing in the Cross Country League requires huge commitment, resilience and motivation to continually compete against fellow high-performing athletes. The Vigo Community is extremely proud of all of your achievements Cyryl - keep up the excellent work!
