Message From Mrs Dance
I hope that you have all enjoyed the week.
We have marked National Mental Health Week this week in class and in my assemblies. The theme for this week has been: ‘taking action’. In my assemblies, I reminded the children of different things that they could do to support happy mental health, such as; exercise, being in nature, getting enough sleep and doing things that we like to do. We then explored the science of kindness; how scientists have discovered that by being kind, witnessing kindness and being in receipt of a kind act has an actual scientific impact on our bodies, keeping us healthier and supporting a kinder community. I have challenged the children and staff to ensure that our school is a kind place to be in.
As we draw nearer to half-term and the summer holidays, please see the links below that will support activities for the entire family.

The Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel de Souza has written to all schools asking children to complete her new survey, The Big Future. Under the Children Act 2004, it is Dame De Souza’s role to promote the views and interests of children in England; she is asking children about the changes they want to see in their communities, their biggest concerns, and their hopes for the future. More than anything, she wants to know what they think a good childhood should look like today. To complete the survey, click here: http://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
