Message From Mrs Dance

Dear parents and carers,

Welcome back to the final 7 and a half weeks of this academic year; time has flown! We have lots of exciting events this half-term, including sports day, enrichment activities and our transition programme for all of our children to prepare them for the next academic year.

Vigo is holding an Art Exhibition at Chapel Arts Studio in town next week between the 10th and 14th June. All of the art work being exhibited has been created by our children from EYFS to Y6 as part of our art curriculum. The exhibition is titled We All Have Different Eyes and is a celebration of the creativity, imagination and artistic expression of our children. We will be taking the children to see the exhibition during the school day, it would be wonderful if you could visit too to share in our children’s amazing artistic achievements!

In light of recent tragic events that have taken place across the country, please take a moment to read the attached information regarding water safety.

Yesterday, the children in Year 3 and 5 had the fantastic opportunity of experiencing volcanoes and the solar system in the comfort of our school hall! A science dome was set up for the day, with a specialist teacher enhancing the children’s knowledge around all thing’s volcano and space.

" It was the best thing I've ever seen!" Caleb

"It was cool and exciting when the volcano erupted!" Mya

" I loved the epic stars." Lily

Dangerous parking. We are being informed of more incidents where our children and parents are being placed in unsafe situations due to dangerous parking. I appreciate that parking is challenging, however, it is important that we adhere to road safety laws. Thank you for supporting the safety of our children and families.

As we draw closer to the end of this academic year, I am now in a position to share the following staffing news: Miss C Russell left Vigo Primary School on 30th April. We thank her for her contribution during her time at the school and wish her every success in her future career.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
