Message From Mrs Dance
Dear parents and carers,
I hope that this week’s newsletter finds you all well. It has certainly been a cooler week!
I am delighted to share that I received an email from a member of our community sharing with me that three year 4 students were litter picking at a local park on Wednesday afternoon. Using their own initiative, they were making the park a better place for others. Thank you to Raven, Mary-Jane and Emily for being AMAZING school ambassadors of our MIRROR values; a brilliant example of community spirit!
Yesterday’s sports day was a fantastic event. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers at school. The children exemplified our team spirit throughout the day, and it was wonderful to see their smiling faces and listen to their excitable chatter. One child told me, "I love sports day” and another shared, “I wish it was sports day every day!” A BIG shout-out to Mr. Burdock and Mr. Holmes for organising the day. It is no mean feat and, once again, they organised a great day for us all. Thanks also to the Friends of Vigo who kept us all hydrated and fed throughout the day.
Following on from our Art Exhibition in town, I was contacted by the Test Valley Art Society asking if it was possible to exhibit our children’s artwork at the Andover train station. Of course, we said yes! To link in with the Frida Kahlo exhibition at the Tate Modern in London, Miss Marta has taught a unit within our school curriculum exploring the artistic vision of Frida. So, we have lots of Frida Kahlo inspired artwork to exhibit. I will let you all know the dates that the children’s artwork will be showcased, when we have been notified.
Wishing you all a great weekend.
