Message From Mrs Dance
Dear parents and carers,
I cannot believe that we are edging ever closer to the end of this academic year. With one week and 3 days left, school remains a hive of activity.
Once again, we have been facing hot weather. We have been following all local authority and government guidance. Please support us with this by ensuring that your child brings in a water bottle (which we will refill throughout the day) a sun hat and apply sun cream before the start of the school day. Due to the hot weather continuing into next week, children can wear PE kits on Monday and Tuesday. Please ensure that PE kits align with school policy: white T-shirt, and black shorts and trainers. No football shirts are permitted.
On Wednesday, Year 6 went on their annual trip to Paultons Park. The children were exemplary in their behaviour and showcased our school to a high standard. The children and staff had a great time full of fun and laughter, a great way to end their final year at Vigo. Next week, we have the Year 6 play, "Pirates of the Currybean" to enjoy, as well as their graduation ceremony at The Lights.
Next Friday (17th July) is our final transition afternoon. This year, having three afternoon sessions has been a success. Both children and parents alike have told us that this model has really helped our children to navigate the inevitable anxieties around moving to a new year group, classroom and meeting new adults.
Thank you to all of you who completed our annual parent survey. We are in the final process of analysing the outcomes and will share them with you all by the end of term.
I am delighted to share with you all that the children’s Frida Kahlo artwork is now on display at Andover train station. The artwork from Year 3 can be found in the station waiting rooms. I do hope you get the opportunity to see it.

On Friday 3rd July Mrs Neale and 12 children form the Country Dancing Club met at John Hanson School along with other Andover schools. As this was an INSET day at school it was amazing to be able to take a team to represent Vigo. An enormous Thank You to all the parents, relatives, friends and younger siblings who came along to support and join in with the dancing. Vigo was the only school who joined in with every dance and we were praised for how creative our own dance was.
