Message From Mrs Dance

Welcome to this week’s Friday newsletter.

Following our recent Parent Forum meeting, you can access the Parent Forum Minutes by clicking on the following link: Vigo Primary School - Parent Forum

This week, myself, Mrs Parry and the Nurture team welcomed a second dog to our Dog Mentor Team alongside Ralph. I am delighted to welcome Hattie, a red fox labrador to the team. I am Hattie’s human. Next week, in my HT assemblies, I will introduce Hattie to the children, so that she can begin her role as a Dog Mentor in our school.

Parking- please ensure that we all park legally and safely. For access to alternative places to park adjacent to the school and the schools park and stride map, please click on the following link to  the Travel Plan page of our Website: Vigo Primary School - Travel Plan .

We have received special congratulations from Andover Library on how well our children did during the Summer Reading Challenge. 58 children started the challenge and 30 actually completed the challenge which is the 4th highest number of starters and, the 3rd highest number of finishers out of the 52 schools who took part in Andover this year. What a FANTASTIC achievement! Congratulations to all of our summer reading adventurers!

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Junior Governor Elections

Dear Vigo families,

On October 6th we will be holding our Junior Governor elections for Years 1-6.

Children that are interested in running need to complete the Junior Governor Form which will be sent home on Friday 25th. If children have other ideas about how they would like to present they are more than welcome to do so.

Once all children have presented, the top three candidates from each class will be chosen ready for the school election. Please note, children which have already been a Junior Governor are welcome to re-apply as this is part of the British democratic process.

If your child would like to be a Junior Governor, please could they have their ideas ready to present for the week of the 28th September.

Many thanks,

Mr Stott
