Newsletter Number 04   -   2 October 2026

Message From Mrs Dance

I hope that this week’s newsletter finds you all well. The sunnier weather for part of the week has certainly made it a brighter one.

On Wednesday, we welcomed our Local Authority School Improvement Partner (SIP) into school for our annual monitoring visit. As part of this visit, we spent time in all classrooms carrying out a learning walk. I am delighted to say that again, it was a highly positive and successful day. Mrs. McCarthy was complimentary of the teaching and learning that she saw, as well as the children’s excellent behaviour in class and around the school building. This is a great way to start the academic year and has confirmed that our current school development plans are highly effective and will ensure that we grow from strength to strength.

As part of our commitment to ensure that our children access mobile phones in a safe and secure way. Please click on the link below to access the Smartphone Free Childhood - Parent Pact link: https://www.smartphonefreechildhood.org/parent-pact

I would like to draw your attention to the ‘Demon Slayer’ books that we have noticed some of our children are reading and making reference to.  The books are recommended for children aged 13 years and over and in some cases rated 16 years and over. This is due to the mature content and themes within them.  We have noticed that a number of our Key Stage 2 children are reading these books at home. It is important that we make you aware of the age rating so that you can make an informed decision regarding your child’s access to these books.

Wishing you all a great weekend. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday.

 Rachel Dance

(Head teacher)
