Newsletter Number 06   -   16 October 2026

Message From Mrs Dance

I hope that the penultimate newsletter of autumn 1, finds you all well.

As part of our Harvest celebration, we invited volunteers from the Andover Foodbank to speak to our Year 5 and 6 children, to explain the work of the Foodbank and how it supports our community. The volunteers were very impressed with the children’s knowledge and behaviour during the assembly commenting that they were ‘ a credit to our school.’ My assemblies this week, continued the theme of Harvest, enabling the children to reflect on where our food comes from, their responsibility with its consumption and how we can support our planet by sourcing and sharing responsibly.

Thank you for your generosity and kindness. We were able to donate a fantastic 60.2 kg of food to our local food bank.

This week our Year 4 Historians spent the day in Winchester exploring the world of the Anglo-Saxons. The children explored what it was like to live in Anglo-Saxon times, visiting the Great Hall and the City Museum. The children engaged in the different activities and exemplified our MIRROR values; being great ambassadors for our school.

As part of our 60th birthday celebration year, this autumn 1 term, we will be burying a Vigo Time Capsule on the school grounds. Each class has written a letter to the future children of the school which have been placed inside. The time capsule is going to be buried next Wednesday, with help from our Junior Governors, Head Boy and Girl and Deputy Head Boy and Girl. We will take plenty of photos and share them with the school community following the event.

Wishing you all a great weekend.
