VE Day celebration ideas

VE DAY CELEBRATIONS

May Day is traditionally held on a Monday but has been put back to Friday 8 May 2020. VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, marks the day towards the end of World War Two when fighting against Nazi Germany came to an end in Europe.  This year is particularly special because it celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the event.  In Year 1 we thought this might be a nice opportunity for you guys to plan and have a mini lockdown party of our own.

The things you can do with your children are –

Colour in the British flag – read the information about the flags of the British isles

Design a medal of honour – maybe we could like this to our NHS staff

Look up Europe on a map (googlemap or an actual map or just on the internet)

Make a party invitation to your 75th Anniversary VE Day celebration
