Visions and Values

Vigo Primary School Vision

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Vigo Primary School opened on 1st September 2016 following the expansion of Vigo Infant School and the closure of Vigo Junior School. We therefore have plenty of internal space as well as spacious grounds, with visitors to our school commenting positively on our size and space, our facilities and the stimulating environment.

Our priority is to ensure that every child at Vigo receives an education that will enable them to achieve their academic and personal potential and progress confidently into the next phase of their education. We offer experiences that nurture and support children to enable them to develop confidence and to embrace whatever comes their way. It is important that we prepare the children of Vigo Primary School to live well in our society and to deal with the challenges that the modern world presents.

All the staff at Vigo Primary School recognise children as unique individuals with specific talents and needs. They work tirelessly to provide a varied and engaging curriculum and positive school experiences. Our classrooms are full of creativity and learning, making Vigo a special place indeed for children, and fulfilling our motto ‘Opening a World of Learning’.

If you would like to know more about our school, you are very welcome to come and visit. The children of Vigo very much enjoy talking about, and sharing their, achievements and our successes.

Vigo MIRROR Values

At Vigo Primary School, we use our MIRROR values to inspire all pupils to reflect upon and feel proud of the person they see in the mirror. We aim to fully prepare our pupils with the life skills required to grow into the best possible version of themselves.

Vigo Hi-Five

Vigo Hi-Fives are the expectations set for all Vigo Primary School pupils. We expect pupils to conduct themselves following the Vigo Hi-Five in every aspect of school life.

All children have the opportunity to earn a Hi-Five badge, which is awarded by Mrs Dance at the end of each half-term.  Children can work towards earning their bronze, silver and gold badges during their time at Vigo Primary School.
