Opening a World of Learning and Opportunity

PDL

Parents have the right to withdraw their children from parts of the sex education curriculum, except for those parts included within the National Curriculum for Science and RSE. Those parents/carers wishing to exercise the right to withdraw their child from part of RSE should discuss this with the Head Teacher, and make it clear which aspects of the programme they do not wish their child to participate in. The Head Teacher will explore any concerns and discuss any impact that withdrawal may have on the child. The school always complies with the wishes of parents in this regard.

Children who are withdrawn from RSE continue with individual learning tasks for other curriculum areas, which are carried out in another classroom.
