Last week, last year's junior governors went on a very special trip to London to visit the Houses of Parliament. They were able to learn about the important role of Democracy in society and how MPs discuss and debate matters which affect us all on a daily basis. This was important learning to enable them to understand how impactful their roles as Junior Governors can be within our school community.

Sporting Achievements Very fitting that as the World Athletics Championship is currently taking place in Tokyo, we would like to send a huge congratulations to current Year 5 pupil, Freya, who recently competed in her competition at Andover Athletics Club. Freya took part in a number of activities and even managed to finish in second place in her running race. Well done Freya - we can't wait to hear more about your athletics journey!

Art Update A message from Miss Marta: "The Andover Guildhall is celebrating its 200th birthday this year. As part of the anniversary celebrations, it is with great excitement that Test Valley Borough Council invites children, aged 5 -11 years old, to take part in a competition to draw/ sketch/ paint or collage a picture of the Andover Guildhall! Last academic year during the Summer Term, some children from: Jamaica class, Costa Rica, Australia, Fiji, Chile, and Brazill class created art inspired by Andover Guildhall. Children could choose if they would like to take part in the Art contest. The response was Amazing. I framed and labelled with their names and class and 97 pieces of art in total were delivered to Test Valley offices. Entries will be displayed in the Andover Guildhall at a special Open Day on Sunday 14 September, which coincides with the National Heritage Open Days. Do come along to the Guildhall between 10am and 3pm on Sunday 14 September with your family and friends to look at the entries and find out if you are the winner! We can reveal that 2 entries are part of the winners! Head down there to check them all out!"
